Contest Terms & Conditions

1. Contest Description
1.1 Contest Title
  • This contest is known as the ‘SKP Logo & Slogan Contest’ (“The Contest”).
1.2 The Contest’s Objective
  • The Contest aims to produce a new creative logo and a suitable slogan which will be used as the official logo and slogan for the Suruhanjaya Kredit Pengguna (SKP), targeted to be launched in the second half of 2024.
  • The Contest further strives to create awareness of the upcoming Consumer Credit Act (CCA), as a new law and the establishment of the SKP as the competent authority.
1.3 Organiser
  • The Contest is organised by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) on behalf of the Consumer Credit Oversight Board Task Force (CCOB TF), hereinafter referred to as “the Organiser”.
  • The CCOB TF was set up in July 2021 and is led by the Ministry of Finance, BNM and the Securities Commission Malaysia to drive the enactment of the CCA.
  • This effort is undertaken in collaboration with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Living Costs, the Ministry of Housing and Local Government, the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development and the Malaysia Co-operative Societies Commission.
1.4 Background on the Consumer Credit Act (CCA)
  • The CCA aims to strengthen the protection of credit consumers in Malaysia and to provide a comprehensive framework for regulating the conduct of entities carrying out the business of providing credit or credit services.
  • The CCA will pave the way for the establishment of the SKP as the independent competent authority to oversee consumer credit providers and credit service providers.
1.5 Background on Suruhanjaya Kredit Pengguna (SKP)
  • Upon the enactment of CCA, SKP will take the helm as the new designation, replacing Consumer Credit Oversight Board (CCOB). Henceforth, any mention of “SKP” in this document will refer to “CCOB” on the current CCOB Task Force’s website.
  • SKP will be a digital and technologically driven regulatory and supervisory authority to regulate consumer credit activities by harnessing technological advancements and digital solutions for better work efficiencies.
  • Its objectives include regulating credit businesses and credit services businesses and ensuring proper conduct and responsible lending practices in the credit industry. In addition, SKP will promote the orderly development of the credit industry through a fair, efficient and transparent credit industry.

2. Eligibility
  • The Contest is open to all Malaysians aged 18 and above, except for CCOB TF staff and their immediate family members (spouses and children).

3. Participation
3.1 Logo & Slogan Creation
  • Participants are required to produce a logo design and slogan in Bahasa Malaysia.
  • The design and slogan should be original, creative and aligned to the consumer credit industry and SKP.
  • Each submission needs to be accompanied with a write-up explaining the idea, concept and use of colours/fonts behind the logo design and slogan produced.
  • The Organiser shall have full ownership, of all submissions received including the winning logo and slogan, the rights to modify and utilise all or parts of submissions received and the sole discretion on the usage and adoption of the winning logo and slogan.
3.2 Judging
Judging will be conducted based on the following criteria:
  • Technique, use of font and colours for design
  • Accuracy of content and understanding of the CCA and SKP
  • Creativity & originality
  • Overall design, presentation and language
  • Artwork quality and completeness of submission documents
3.3 Details of Submission 
  • Participants must fill out the required details in the online form (click here). The file(s) containing the logo and slogan must be emailed to ccob_communications@bnm.com.my.
  • The deadline for submitting the required details, logo and slogan is 6:00 p.m. on 17 June 2024.
  • Submission must be in .AI, .PNG, .JPEG or .JPG file format. File size must not be more than 10 MB.
  • Each individual must only submit ONE logo and ONE slogan.
  • Please use a white background (where possible).
  • Do not use artificial intelligence technology to create designs.
  • Selection of the overall winner will be made by a panel of judges determined by the Organiser. The judges’ decision shall be final.
4. Contest Duration
  • The Contest shall commence from 10 May until 31 May 2024.
5. Closing Date for Submission of Contest Entries
  • The closing date for submission of the designed logo and relevant Contest materials shall be at 6.00 pm on 17 June 2024. All entries received after the closing date will be disqualified.
6. Announcement of Contest Results
  • The announcement of the winners will be published on CCOB Task Force - ccob.my website. Further details will be communicated to the winners and the decision of the contest is final.

8. Infringement policy 
  • Infringement of any third-party rights is strictly prohibited and will result in automatic disqualification.
  • In the event of any claims, participants must take full responsibility and deal with the said third-party claims at their costs. The Organiser accepts no responsibility or liability in such matters.
  • Participants shall indemnify the Organiser against any claims or indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages from any third-party action that may arise from the Contest Entry submitted under the Contest.
9. Ownership of Contest Materials
  • By entering the Contest, the participant agrees that Organiser shall retain the sole intellectual property rights over the submitted logo and slogan including all materials related.
  • The participant further warrants that it will not infringe any third party’s intellectual property rights in connection with the production of the logo and slogan.
  • In the event of a breach of this obligation, the participant shall indemnify the Organiser from any claim that arose as a result of the infringement of a third party’s intellectual property right.
  • By entering the Contest, the participant agrees and acknowledges that the Organiser is permitted to use the submitted materials for promotional purposes on the Organiser’s main communications channels.
  • Participant further agrees that the Organiser reserves the right to use the participant’s name in connection with such promotional uses but shall have no obligation to do so.
10. Personal Data 
  • By providing personal data to the Organiser and/or entering this Contest, the Participant confirms that he/she has read and understood the Personal Data Protection Notice (click here) and the Participant agrees and consents that the Organiser may process and disclose the personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Notice.
11. Limitations on Liability
  • The Organiser hereby disclaims any and all liabilities that may arise in connection with the Contest entries. 
  • Further, the Organiser shall not be held responsible for any Contest entries that are lost or damaged in transit. 
  • Contest entries are automatically rejected if they are incomplete, unreadable, damaged, or incompliant with the Contest terms and conditions. 
  • The Organiser reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify, suspend or extend the Contest at any point in time.
12. Agreement 
  • By submitting a Contest entry and therefore participating in the Contest, each participant agrees to be bound by and abide by these Contest terms and conditions, including any amendments, modifications and/or interpretation of these Contest terms and conditions, as well as decisions made by the Organiser.
