About Us

Consumer Credit Oversight Board Task Force (CCOB TF) 

CCOB Task Force is spearheaded by the Ministry of Finance (MOF), Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) and is responsible to drive the enactment of the Consumer Credit Bill and implement early preparations in view of the impending establishment of the CCOB, which is targeted to be in the first quarter of 2025 in line with the enactment of the Bill. The CCOB Task Force will transform into a statutory body, CCOB, once the Consumer Credit Bill is enacted into law to be the Consumer Credit Act.

Consumer Credit Oversight Board (CCOB)

CCOB will be the statutory regulator and supervisory body overseeing non-bank credit providers, carrying out its responsibilities as a competent authority under the CCA.

Council for Consumer Credit Malaysia (CCC)

The CCA shall provide for the establishment of the Council for Consumer Credit Malaysia (CCC), which will act as the platform for coordination and collaboration amongst the various Ministries and their agencies to ensure the CCA is implemented consistently and effectively by all regulatory and supervisory authorities (RSAs) in phase 1 and 2. The members of CCC shall comprise of senior officers / representatives from the respective RSAs.

Consumer Credit Act (CCA)

The CCA aims to promote fair and responsible lending practices towards a prudent and responsible credit culture in Malaysia.
